Welcome to our latest edition of The Humber Spotlight, I’m Laura Roche, I attend Hessle Sixth Form and I’m currently doing a work experience week here at Future Humber. I’m hoping to go into a career in marketing, and I’m interested in the work that Future Humber do for our region.
Throughout the week, I’ve been involved in a lot of the different marketing projects that the Future Humber team have going on, including the update of Your Time, which is a recruitment guide to attract students and young people here. This week has also included meeting a wide range of individuals across the region, starting the week with learning more about Future Humber’s sustainability plan with Axiom, to then travelling to Goole on Tuesday for the Invest in Goole event by Insider Media where I learnt more about the exciting businesses looking to invest in the area.
I would like to thank Ellie and the team at INEOS Acetyls for welcoming us to their site, I really enjoyed seeing the workplace and gaining an insight into the scale of the work they do at Saltend. This was followed by a visit to Phillips 66, where we were welcomed by Nina to talk more about the Phillips 66 Waterline 2024 Sustainability Challenge, which is an exciting opportunity for school and college students from all parts of the Humber to get involved in and create sustainability and environmental projects to address the climate crisis. You can learn more about the challenge and how to get involved below.
Finally, I would like to thank the Future Humber team and beyond for gifting me these opportunities this week and helping me understand more about marketing and place development. Hopefully, I’ll see you all again in the future.
