Welcome to the latest issue of the Humber Spotlight!
At Phillips 66 Humber Refinery, we're always looking to the future—whether it’s through our commitment to sustainable energy or by supporting the next generation of innovators. That’s why we’re thrilled to be leading the Phillips 66 Student Sustainability Challenge once again this year!
This exciting initiative, now in full swing, invites secondary school and college students from across the Humber region to become a part of the Waterline conversation. They’re tasked with developing innovative solutions to tackle climate change head-on, using STEM to address one of the world’s most pressing issues. It’s truly inspiring to see these young minds at work, collaborating, creating, and coming up with ideas that could shape a more sustainable future.
We’re particularly excited about the upcoming final stage of the challenge at the Waterline event on November 27th. This is your chance to see firsthand the creativity and passion these students are bringing to the table. Not only will you witness their hard work, but you’ll also get a say in deciding who will take home the title of our 2024 winners.
Connecting industry with the bright minds of tomorrow is what makes this challenge so important to the Humber region—and we’re proud to play a part in it. Plus, the journey doesn’t end there! The winning team will go on to showcase their ideas at the Great Northern Conference on December 3rd, bringing even more attention to the incredible talent we have right here in the Humber.
In this issue, you’ll also find more exciting news, events, and opportunities from around the region. We hope you enjoy catching up on the latest developments, and we can’t wait to see you at the Waterline in November!
