The Humber Spotlight

Hello and welcome back to the Humber Spotlight! Since joining Future Humber in March 2024, I have been fortunate to witness first-hand the incredible strength and connectivity that define this remarkable network. It has been a privilege to meet and collaborate with some influential individuals, and I look forward to connecting with even more of you in the near future.

Having grown up in this region, I left for a few years only to return with a renewed passion for attracting and retaining talent within the Humber region. This drives my commitment to leading the Talent+ programme. Our mission is to empower individuals and communities by encouraging skills development, facilitating knowledge exchange, and creating valuable networking opportunities. We achieve this through events, industry insights, campaign content, and an exciting upcoming mentoring pilot.

The beauty of Talent+ lies in its collaborative nature - it is as much your programme as it is mine. Your ideas, your suggestions, and your feedback. What revolutionary ideas do you have for the future? What do you feel is missing? Where do you need support? Your input is crucial as we look to grow and enhance the impact of Talent+.

Collectively, we can to inspire the next generation of leaders, empowering them to become passionate regional ambassadors for the Humber.

Olly Burdett, Content and Design Executive, Future Humber

Congratulations to... Offshore Training Centre, Grimsby

As part of the 30 Years of Bondholders celebrations, we have introduced a brand new award, the Changemakers Award. This award is given to an organisation in the Humber who are making an outstanding contribution to the region and to the business landscape. The award, which will be passed on each year, comes with one years membership of Bondholders and is a chance for the organisation to make new contacts and grow their business.

In 2024, the inaugural Changemakers Award was granted to Offshore Training Centre in Grimsby. We were impressed by OTC’s values and mission and their potential to have a real impact in the renewable energy sector, one of the region’s largest and fastest growing industries.

We caught up with Terri-Louise Precious, OTC Training Manager to find out more about OTC and what winning the award means for their business.
